The first few days

Ava had to be on the Bili blanket for about 3 days because she was a little jaundice.  I called her my little glow worm. We also got to introduce the cats to the new baby.  They were more interested in getting their Fancy Feast and pets from us....

Welcome to your new home!

On Wednesday, August 24th, 2011, we were released from the hospital and got to go home!  Steve got to stay home with us the remainder of the first week and Nana came to stay with us for the second week. We had many more visitors throughout this time.  Grandpa Greg, Uncle Chris, Veneer, Aunt Janet, Sean, Zia Kathy, and Uncle Denny.  We were also showered with so many great dinners which made us feel so loved.  Mel and Barbara, Luy and Lori, Gina and Ashley, and Katie.  Thank you guys so much for all of the great food!

Welcome to the world Ava Marie!!

My due date was September 2nd, but I was scheduled to have a c-section on Friday, August 26th since Ava was in the breech position.  On Sunday, August 21st at 6:30a.m., to my suprise, my water broke!  We headed to Kaiser, San Jose and were all checked in by 8am.  Contractions started and I was in the operating room by 11:20am.  Ava Marie O'Hara was born at 11:40am.  She was 6lbs, 14oz., and 18.5 inches long.  Steve and I were so happy to hear her soft little cry and to see that she was a healthy little girl.  We were so in love right from the start. We stayed in the hospital for three nights and were very comfortable.  Ava had lots of visitors in the hospital, including her Nana and Grandpa Greg, Veneer, Uncle Jake and Thuyen, Auntie Jen, Cody, and Farrah, Auntie Gina and Ashley, Luy, Amy G., Mel and Barbara. They were all excited to meet her and welcome her into the world!
