Day 3: Yellowstone National Park was amazing. We stayed 4 days and were thrilled to get a break from driving. We saw so much wildlife and so many cool things. Take a look:
When were first got there. This looked like a pretty lake to look at and we needed to get out and stretch. We quickly learned that pretty lakes can be boiling sulfur ponds.....
The first wildlife we spotted on our way to Fishing Bridge campground. The Bison are everywhere! This guy was just chillin on the side of the road...
This river was gorgeous. It was such a steep canyon. It is known as the Grand Canyon of Yellowstone.
Here are some Mule Deer just hanging out on the lawn.

Happy 4th of July! We were lucky enough to go visit Old Faithful on the 4th.

We saw so many steaming, hot pools while walking around.

This is the Old Faithful Inn. It is very old and HUGE inside. We had lunch there after we saw Old Faithful blow!

On our way back to the campsite that day, we spotted some Bull Elk on the side of the road. These were so cool and so HUGE! I thought they were moose at first..
Down the road, we spotted a white coyote hunting it's prey. I didn't get great pics of him because he was so fast, but we saw him running and then he pounced on his food. It was really neat.
Back at the trailer, we decorated for the fourth, drank a few beers, and just hung out!

Trying his luck in Yellowstone Lake; The largest natural, high-altitude lake in the U.S. Unfortunately, a Yellowstone fishing license only permits you to fish in certain areas, all of which, have no fish. That's one way to preserve the fish and still make money.....
OK, I heard about the Bison Crossing traffic jams, and they are true!
Even when tourists are tail gaiting these bad boys, they still just mosey and take their time...

This is where our hike begins. There was a mix of water, boiling mud pots, boiling lakes, boiling ponds, and steaming caves throughout this place.
Ava got the bird's eye view.
This was called Dragon's breath cave because it smelled like sulfur and when the steam came out, it sounded like a dragon.

Yellowstone was amazing! We saw so many things and experienced so many good memories here. The place is HUGE. We did our best to travel around and see as much as we could. The sights, the visitor centers, the campground, EVERYTHING, was so awesome. We only wish we had seen moose and bears....maybe next time : )

WHOA!!
Inside the Old Faithful Inn. It was like the Winchester Mystery House with stairs to nowhere, etc. The fireplaces were huge and Steve couldn't figure out how the place was still standing. He couldn't believe that the construction of this building was holding it all up.
Our last day at the park, we cruised around looking for good fishing spots for Steve. Then we went on a hike up to a bunch of boiling mud pots and sulfur ponds. The sulfur smell made me really nauseous, but I'm glad we went because it was so cool to see.
